Classic Car Restoration – Escort Series 2 rs Turbo
This Escort series 2 rs turbo was brought into L&J Vehicle Specialists all the way from Middlesex. Our website caught the eye of our customer and delivery of this iconic car was arranged.
The customer had only just purchased this hot hatch and had a list of improvements he wanted to make. On arrival we could see why, this tired escort had lost its presence.
Firstly we put the vehicle on the ramp and gave it a general check over, we found various oil leaks and decided to start with the engine.
We removed the engine and gearbox, removed the cylinder head and replaced all of the gaskets oil filter and oil. The clutch release bearing was noisy noted by the customer, so while the engine was out we replaced the clutch kit. On refitting the engine we carried out a service replacing the spark plugs, fuel filter and fitted a few modifications such as an uprated K&N air filter, cooling fan along with new blue boost hoses and dump valve.
The vehicle was then ready for paint and sent to our bodyshop for panel repairs and a full paint job.
After just a few weeks this Escort RS Turbo was back to its formal glory ready to be presented to our customer to finally enjoy 🚙
