Air Con Re-Gas and Service
With the warmer weather on the horizon and sunny days fast approaching the use of your air con will soon be a necessity.
Let’s face it most of us as drivers only think about our air conditioning when the sun’s out and the cabin starts heating up.
But your vehicle’s air con does far more than just keeping you cool and comfortable on a warm summer’s day. It also plays a key role in filtering out contaminants within the air and improving the overall air quality you breathe in, inside your vehicle.
Did you know?
Your vehicle’s Air conditioning believe it or not should be used in winter and summer, it works to ‘condition’ the air – not only cooling it down, but by reducing moisture, which is why it’s a great help in the winter period to rapidly demist your windscreen.
Why is it important to have your vehicle’s air conditioning re-gassed?
Like any part of your vehicle, your air conditioning system needs regular maintenance to stay in tip top condition. Sadly, over time the refrigerant gas within your car’s air conditioning system starts to diminish and will need recharging, a process also referred to as regassing.
Air-con regassing is the process of removing the old refrigerant gas from your air conditioning system and replacing it with new refrigerant, so your air con can run cold again.
Much like your vehicle, an Air conditioning service is essential to ensure optimal cooling, preventing costly repairs, improve fuel efficiency, and eliminate bacteria-producing mould.
Using a special machine, the technician will safely remove the old refrigerant and lubricant and replace it with fresh gas and lubricant.
If though the process the gas pressure is low, a leak test will also be carried out by adding a fluorescent dye to your refrigeration system. If there is a leak, the dye will change colour in the precise location and will identify the leak.
How do I know if my air con needs regassing?
If you are unsure when your air con was last regassed, or your air conditioning system is blowing out warm air, it’s time to book in for an air con regas with L&J Vehicle Specialist.
