After 16 years of being off the road this Ford Sierra Sapphire RS Cosworth 2wd was purchased by our customer and we were given the task of completing a full nut and bolt restoration. 

It arrived at L&J in a bit of a sorry state, unloved and in need of a new lease of life. With a layer of dust covering it, no engine, and parts missing we got on with making a list of parts required to start the build. After looking over the car we were pleasantly surprised at how solid and what a great basis we had to create a simply stunning example of the RS Cosworth. 

First things first was to source the parts. An engine was a priority, once sourced we stripped and built a fully forged engine from the ground up along with a new braking system, new suspension, new exhaust, gearbox, hoses, re zinced nuts and bolts, NOS Ford gauges, fixed the sunroof mechanism and much more too much to document. 

It wasn’t long before it started taking shape and we could see that this Sierra Cosworth was just as stunning on the underside as it was on the surface. With a set of new rims a valid MOT certificate this 80’s icon was ready to be returned to the customer just in time for summer.

What a car, what a build and what a pleasure it was getting another 80’s classic back on our roads.
